本期的综合写作针对某种生物的方法分析类综合写作,套路是综合阅读会三种方法,然后听力一一反驳,分别指出这三种方法的不好和缺陷。这种套路在TPO的综合写作练习中还是比较常见的。考生需要注意的是阅读和听力的一一对应性,把听力中阐明的每种方法的不足的细节写完整。

题目解析:


此题重复了19年10月26日的托福独立写作,是老题,再次印证了好好准备历年考题的重要性。题型是三选一独立写作,分别阐明三个选项即可。话题分类是常考的工作类话题。这里我们可以选择3,先说明选择广告的理由,再分别阐明不问朋友和发邮件给公司的理由。作者认为第三种方法方便可得,最重要的是直接了解招聘公司的需求。而问朋友,朋友可能不知道,或者比起三有点浪费时间,毕竟需要先social. 方法二不实际的地方在于我们可能无法得到正确的招聘邮箱,而我们的申请邮件会淹没的上百上千封的人力的工作邮件中。此题参考范文如下:


Thesis Statement:


Searching for job advertisements from different media, like newspaper and magazine is the best way.  


After graduation, the first task for most graduates is to find a decent and satisfying job or some employees seek to change their current jobs to a better one. Hence, the debate arises about the best way to seek a job, including turning to friends, sending emails to a company, or searching for job advertisements through media. As for me, the last approach works most efficiently.


Searching job vacancies directly through media is the most efficient way to find a job. Imagining that a company wants to recruit a new member, the first thing to do is to put its specific requirements through job advertisements directly. In this way, the director of human resources department lists all the information regarding job position. More importantly, in order to raise the chance of getting a decent job, knowing what kind of employee the company wants is the prerequisite. If we want to write a good essay, we have to read the rubrics first. Similarly, knowing all the job descriptions paves the way to get an offer from a company that we are interested in. In this sense, what we need to do is to search for job advertisements from different media. After carefully reading all the information, we can judge whether this company or this job is suitable for us. Satisfied with job content, working location and fringe benefits, we can make a wise decision.


As for asking our friends for help, this approach is inefficient and indirect. Most of the time, never does a person notice job vacancy if he/she has no willingness to change his/her current job. Under this circumstance, we may not get the information we want. Imaging that we ask as many friends as possible, even including those friends who we have got lost with for a long period, asking them information about job is indirect and embarrassing. The common situation is that we make small talks first either through social network or in person. To show our social manner, we usually do not open the conversation by asking job information directly. Talking about recent situation is a way used by many people. Therefore, after 10 minutes greeting, we finally reach to our subject – wanting to know something about a job. Determining to ask ten friends, we spend more than one hour. It is very likely that we do not get the precise information about job vacancy.


Sending a letter to the company directly is not an effective way either. For a direct of Human Resource, his/her email box is bombarded with loads of working emails everyday including order from boss and cooperative requirement from other departments. Hence, our email may be ignored by the director or taken as rubbish email by the system itself. This drawback can be omitted by searching advertisement through media since a company puts its email address specifically for recruiting new staff on the job advertisement. Taking my own experience as an example, I wanted to find an internship during the last semester. Therefore, I sent an email to a company that I was interested in. After one month, I did not receive any reply, contending that I was not a qualified candidate for the company. This experience made me upset from several days. The coincidence is that I get to know the director of human resources several years later after my graduation. He just said that he never noticed my email at that time. Obviously, my personal experience shows that directly sending email to a company does not ensure the delivery of it.


Considering all the reasons and examples listed above, searching for job advertisements from different media is the best way to find a job successfully.
