剑九上的四套口语题还是偏向旧题翻新，考生们还是要注意正确的答题方式。雅思考官越来越不相信考生夸大其词的答案或是模板式的回答。能成功吸引考官的好答案是要以细节为主，多补充有效的名词和形容词，这样的答案才能引导考官在脑海中形成画面感，才能引起考官倾听的兴趣，从而给出高分。下面我以剑九中的口语题为例，解释如何作出细节答案。
剑九Test 2 的part 1 话题是Giving gifts “送礼物”
When do people give gifts or presents in your country?
这题问你们国家的人民在什么时候送礼，例如“people give gifts on some important days”. 这样的答案就只能是5分了，因为考官没有听到任何细节。正确的做法是举例important days是比如Birthday, St. Valentines’ Day, Wedding anniversary等等，此外我们还可以把答案拓展到送什么礼物，比如a bunch of flowers, a bottle of wine or a new cell phone. 考生一定要记住部分的问题尽量回答至少2—3句话，比如 “I guess some important days like birthday, St. Valentine’s Day and Spring Festival, people in my country will give families and friends gifts. The popular gifts are a bunch of flowers, a bottle of wine or a new I-phone.” 这样的答案可以拿到6分的。
剑九的第二部分卡片题也可以用细节为主的原则答题。以一道剑九上的地点题举例，地点题一向是考生们很头疼的，因为可能会涉及到不少专项词汇。而第二部分又是影响总分的关键部分，所以考生们一定要事先对第二部分题目准备及背诵流利。
Part 2 Describe an open-air or street market which you enjoyed visiting. You should say:
Where the market is
What the market sells
How big the market is
And explain why you enjoyed visiting this market.
对于口语问题不陌生的考生会发现，第二部分除了主话题外，额外的四小问和部分的问题无论难度还是提问方式都是一致的。基本都是针对具体事实提问的what, where, how and why形式的问题。所以我们分别还是给出形象的细节答案更好。比如小问“where” ，如果仅是回答在我的家乡那肯定是不会高分的，street market一般都是市中心downtown，题目里还提到open-air，那也有可能是在公园里或市民广场in the park or near the old square. 或者说这个street market is next to my school，就在我学校边上，所以走过去很便利。第二问“what the market sells” 我们可任意讲讲我们熟悉的喜欢的物品或者提供喜欢的服务如美食。但是要注意露天市场不会有商店所以不能说shopping mall, 而必须是各种有特色的小摊位vendor’s stand, Hot dog small vendor’s stand热狗小摊，Park Popsicle small vendor’s stand公园冰棒小摊，seaside small vendor’s stand海边小摊，所以这些词汇是考生事先要准备的。第三问how big, 与其说it is very big不如用数字给考官一个直观印象，比如the market is as long as 1000 meters and as wide as 5 meters. But it’s been always crowded on weekends. 至于最后一问 “你为什么喜欢来这里逛街”用两个经典理由就够了，也可以适当重复以上的细节，比如because it is convenient to get there. There’re many bus routes connected with it. Secondly I can bargain the prices on the street market. It is different feeling when you go to the big shopping mall. 熟悉好四小问的细节，用你熟悉的句型串成一个完整的回答。
