题目解析：这是一道相对常规的家庭教育类话题考题，并且是一道老题目（20131109CN）。从话题看，主要在说 父母是不是能从孩子身上学到更多。针对这样的题目，其实双边都能有一定的思路。首先，从父母从孩子身上学习，考生们可以从学习一些新的技术和知识，比如说一些当下潮流的应用，现在流行的趋势等，这些都是孩子更了解，可以教给父母的。另外，孩子们的思维更加的活跃富有创造力，并没有被世俗的框架限制，可以给父母一些看待问题的新角度。当然，这道题也可以从另一个角度去写，孩子们从父母身上学习到更多的东西，例如父母有更多的经验可以传授给孩子们，另外从学习能力来说，孩子的学习能力更强，相较于父母，能够吸收更多的知识。

Parents today are more involved in children’s education than ever before and all desperately want their children to be successful in the future. Consequently, there is a heated debate aroused regarding whether parents learn more from their children than their children learn more from them. Some may argue that parents can learn more from their kids. While, as far as I am concerned, parents can always teach kids something no matter how old they are.

Admittedly, when it comes to advanced knowledge and skills, parents usually learn more from their children, because with the development of science and technology, knowledge has also update. But parents probably cannot keep up with the currents due to the deficiency of learning ability. Conversely, children not only get latest knowledge from school but also get in touch with the new things. Therefore, in the term of exploring new things such as Internet slang or popular applications, children can teach their parents such as messaging their parents some image macros or assisting them to download those new applications.

First and foremost, parents act as a mirror of the children. So, they will unconsciously influence their kids and help them mold moral values, especially in formative years. Indeed, students learn those virtues from school, but in most cases, they just acquire the knowledge in book and have no idea about how to put them into practice. Thus, most of the time kids observe their parents’ behavior and they will do the same when they meet the same thing. For instance, kids usually make lots of mistakes such as breaking the toys or lying to their parents. When those things happen, if parents set the right example for children like forgiving their misbehavior and guiding them to rectify the mistake patiently, children will learn how to forgive and move on in a positive way.

In addition, children, even after they become adults, do turn to their parents for help or suggestion when they encounter some difficulties in workplace. After all, parents have accumulated more experience, resulting in preventing kids from falling into traps. In most cases, the feeling of awkwardness usually occurs because young adults, as the rookie, don't know how to adapt the new environment, how to communicate with their workmates and how to blend in the team. Meanwhile, in current fierce competition, they also need to deal with tight schedule which would lead to tremendous pressure. In this circumstance, due to the fact that parents already experienced the same situation, they can provide some practical suggestions such as they can spend their leisure time with colleagues to have dinner or they can engage in more social activities to extend interpersonal relationship. Therefore, children could gain a lot from their parents.

Based on the above discussion, both parents and children do can gain new stuff from each other. However, even children grow up and become mature, they still can learn more from their parents owing to the fact that parents went through similar situations and have more experience.
