With the penetration of science and technology into people's daily life, the use of science and technology in teaching has become more and more widespread. Many teachers and parents believe that since technology is very effective in teaching, elementary school students should not be restricted from using electronic products in schools. However, other people believe that unfettered access to technology will bring more hidden dangers. As for me, I agree with the latter point of view.
First of all, electronic products will expose children to a lot of inappropriate materials. Electronic products have opened a window to the Internet for children, and the content on the Internet has a wide range of styles and is unfiltered. For children with immature minds, it is difficult for them to tell whether what they see is correct. It is true that more and more Internet companies are paying attention to this potential hazard and have introduced functions similar to the guardian mode. However, criminals who disseminate harmful content against children are also advancing with the times, using animation for children to spread violent content. Parental supervision seems to be the only solution. Nevertheless, in view of the fact that it is also impossible for parents to stare at their children's screen all the time, it is particularly important to limit the use time of electronic products.
Secondly, the use of electronic products is not conducive to cultivating children's concentration. It is widely acknowledged that compared to the ever-changing display screen, the monotonous pen and paper are more conducive to the cultivation of children's attention. Electronic products provide users with more choices. Whenever users feel bored, they can quickly find other interesting content to pass the time. Even electronic products for learning have similar characteristics. If students find it boring to memorize vocabulary, they can immediately play a listening session or watch a video. If things go on like this, children’s concentration will be destroyed. Faced with more difficult content or topics, they can't concentrate on the problem in front of them without distraction, but always want to have some fun.
In summary, excessive use of electronic products will bring irreparable losses to children's cultivation, so even during school days, the time that elementary school students spend on electronic products should be limited.
