industrial sector in four European countries in 2002.
Sample answer:
The bar charts compare how long people worked each week in France, Denmark, Sweden and the UK in the year 2002.
According to the first bar, in France, more than half of the employees worked for 31-35 hours per week. People who worked for 36-40 and 46-50 hours were relatively fewer, with 35% and 20% respectively. And the proportion for the rest working hours all just comprised around 10%.
Different from France, Denmark and Sweden witnessed the highest percentages of people working for 36-40 hours, which were 80% for the latter and 70% for the former. The second and the third place came from 31-35 hours and 41-45 hours(25% and 12% in Denmark; 35% and 30% in Sweden).
The situation in UK differs considerably especially for the working hours more than 40 hours, which actually saw a steady upward trend from 15% to 20%. However, the most people also worked between 36 and 40 hours each week, constituting 50%. Additional, the percentages of the remaining hours were all at under 10%.
Overall, we can find that France was the country where people worked for the least hours. While the Swedish spent the most time in working among the four mentioned countries.
Task2:科技类
Some people think that the increasing use of computers and mobile phones for communication has had a negative effect on young people’s reading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
