本次考试的小作文部分难度不大，按照题目的分组male and female分别分为两组；每组之中按照时间1996－－2000的变化，数据上升的分为一组，

即male一组中humanities和arts的数据几乎翻倍

（the number of male students receiving excellent results in humanities and arts doubled during the period from 1996 to 2000, rising from 22% to 44% and 9% to 21% respectively ）;

有趣的是我们发现，下降的数据中science and maths数据均减半，

（on the contrary, science and maths showed a downward trend, dropping from 32% to 16% and 30% to 15% separately, approximately halving the number of high grades students during the 4 years.）

只有language的数据变化

however，a stable trend can be noticed in the faculty of language, with the number maintaining above 20%. 

女性部分：正好相反，arts ， humanity and language人数均下降；science and maths人数增多；

in terms of the female counterparts, there was an opposite trend can be seen, unlike the male group, female students enrolled in  language, humanity and arts departmentdeclined sharply by 15%, 7% and 5% differently in the 4 years. by contrast, much less females selected science and maths, whereas an upward trend merged in the amount.

结尾部分可以选取，2000年男生 在humanity方面的top grades人数最多，而女生在language表现最突出 (stand out / outperform ).

negative:

1.    family : this phenomenon is expected to extend the generation gap between parents and children, which is more possible to increase the chance of family conflicts

2.    society: low birthrate will lead to the rise of ageing population, resulting in the higher pressure of cost in medicare and other welfare  system;

3. society： meanwhile, younger generation is also confronted with the burden of   taking care of elderly citizens when they are still under the pressure of employment

4. society： this age structure of workforce gives rise to the shortage of labor-force

作者偏向negative effects，当然考生们也可以选取其他角度进行论述。
