Task 1   

There are some schools raising fund for events as follow, which one would you like to attend?

1. Training in sport teams

2. Work behind a popular TV show

3. Working for national government office

Please include details and examples in your response.

I would like to attend the first one for two reasons.

First, doing some sports training can make me healthier and help me build up muscle in the meantime. Thus, I would be less likely to be affected by diseases, such as bod cold, obesity and heart attack. So, I can have more time to focus on study at school instead of going to see the doctor in the hospital.

Second, this event can help me relieve my stress in study. As a student, I am always busy learning knowledge and preparing for exams. But by sports training, I can divert my attention form study to sports. I don’t have to think about study. After finishing training, my energy can be boosted as well as my study efficiency.

Task 2

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Being polite is more important than being truthful. Explain why.

I agree with it. Because I think that politeness comes before truth.

Take my own life experience as an example.

When I was a freshman major in English, there were always a lot of female students around me. I was often asked questions by these girls, like as a boy how do you think of my new haircut today? Does my dress match my shoes? Actually, I was unwilling to answer this type of questions. If I told them the truth, I might hurt their feelings. After all, truth sometimes hurts. I replied positively to them even if it was not true. White lie is a good way to express your politeness.
