In a society that largely obsesses about entertainment and celebrity culture, celebrities’ glamourous appearance and wealth rather than their accomplishment are always having a powerful impact on a person's life, ranging from fashion trends to people’s belief. This obsession with celebrity culture often starts at an early age. Therefore, while I tend to towards the viewpoint that it sets a bad example to the younger generation, I still believe there are quite a few famous people as positive role models.

On the one hand, the unhealthy examples and luxurious lifestyles shown by the celebrities are detrimental to most teenagers. 【中心句】【因果】The celebrity images that are required to look thin 【定语从句】tend to make young people feel dissatisfied with the way they look, because the young audience usually compares themselves to the body images maintained by pop-stars, actors or actresses through extreme measures, 【举例】such as plastic surgery and taking unhealthy products to suppress appetite. This dissatisfaction is likely to be linked to mental health challenges, 【举例】including eating disorders, depression, and low self-esteem. Furthermore, the stories some people achieve fame and wealth easily【定语从句】 may encourage young people under illusion that there are shortcuts to success【同位语从句】. 【因果】Instead of working hard in schools, they may think it is the appearance that helps them gain reputation【强调（主语）句】 due to abundant evidence worldwide that some people become well-known after 【举例】getting married with someone who is famous and wealthy, or appearing in some gossip【同位语从句】. 

On the other hand, these celebrities, no matter what they are famous for, do deliver some useful information to the younger generation. 【中心句】Many environmentally conscience topics, 【举例】such as global warming, have received publicity because of celebrities.【举例】 For example, Tom Hanks are one of the strong believers in living a "green" lifestyle. These celebrities have often vocalized support for "going green," and have endorsed hybrid cars. 【假设对比】Without their efforts, neither would these issues be paid attention to, nor would the environmentally-friendly lifestyles be adopted.【否定倒装+虚拟语气】 

In conclusion, there is no doubt that public’s focus on celebrities’ appearance and fortune has had adverse influence on the next generation, whereas the actions of some celebrities would be good examples as well.
